Commemorative compact HMAS Sydney

Commemorative compact of the HMAS Sydney lost at sea off the coast of Western Australia with all hands in 1941. This remains Australia's worst war time disaster. The wreck of the HMAS Sydney has only just been located (March 2008). My sister-in-law had an Uncle who was lost on the ship.
Stratton floral compact

This compact is the same shape as Stratton's Empress compact however it doesn't have the bevilled mirror or feeling of quality of that particular model. It has the compact in hand logo and it would date from the late 1950s.
Round silver compact with enamel cartouche

Only 5cm in diameter this very pretty little compact has a half moon shaped mirror, a little rouge well under the half moon and the bottom of the compact holds the powder. Very sweet. c.1920s
Rowenta compact with mirror wiper

This is quite large at 8.5cm in diameter. Inside the mirror has an interesting wiper which wipes the powder off as you open the compact. This was made by the German company Rowenta who prior to WW11 supplied compacts to the U.K.
