Potter & Moore - Dismal Desmond

Potter & Moore produced several bottles featuring  English cartoon characters,  Bonzo, Ooloo (his girlfriend), Little Nipper and Dismal Desmond.   This Dismal Desmond contained 1749 Eau De Cologne

According to London's V & A Museum, Dismal Desmond was designed by Richard Elliott in the 1920s.   He proved to be immensely popular and was the subject of a Deans Rag book, produced as a plush toy and many other objects such as salt & pepper shakers, children's crockery and even (gasp!) perfume bottles.

He was for a time the mascot of the English Cricket team and was featured in the ladies dressing rooms at Wimbledon.
