A tantalus is a locking device that stops the liquid be it perfume or whisky from being used by persons unknown. Made from oak this would be described as a mini tantalus as a whisky tantalus usually has full-sized cut crystal decanters. There can be between two or four decanters, although two or three is the usual number.
